Izhak Nakar, Founder & Active Executive Chairman

Izhak Nakar founded the Company and served as its Chairman of the Board and CEO from its inception until May 2001.

In the beginning of 2009, Izhak Nakar purchased most of the shareholdings of Charterhouse Group International and became the Active and Executive Chairman of the Board and major stakeholder in the Company.

In 1998, Mr. Nakar founded NIR4YOU Capital, a privately-held investment company specializing in early stage investments in high–tech companies. NIR4YOU Capital lists 14 companies in its portfolio including: ForesCout, e-mobilis, TopGuard, Matearis, Video Codes, SundaySky, Expression Ltd, Secur DI, MomSense and others.  Three of the 14 companies were sold to large enterprises, including to SAP and Microsoft. In 2004 Mr. Nakar was elected as a board member of the Israel-Japan Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Nakar served in the Israel Air Force from 1970 to 1987; he reached the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.  In the Air Force he led various large-scale technical development projects, including leading a development team that worked in cooperation with the U.S. Air Force. 
 
He earned a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Bar Ilan University in 1982, and an MBA from Tel-Aviv University in 1984.

Mr. Nakar is a recipient of the “Israel Defense Award,” bestowed annually by the President of Israel, for the development of high-tech systems in the field of intelligence for the Israeli Defense Force. He also received the “Man of the Year Award” in Business and Management (‘95-’96) in recognition of his business accomplishments and contributions to the growth and development of Israeli high-tech companies.

Lyron Bentovim, Chief Financial Officer


After serving as a member of the TIS Board of Directors since November 2008, in August 2014 Lyron lyron bentovim webBentovim, a seasoned CFO with a strong strategy, finance and operations background and many years of experience at public and private companies in the US, was appointed Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Bentovim most recently served as COO and CFO of nIT, New York, N.Y., an IT Services provider.

Prior to this last position, Mr. Bentovim served as Managing Director and COO/CFO at Cabrillo Advisors and as COO/CFO for Sunrise Telecom Inc. Prior to these positions, for some years he held the position of Managing Director of Skiritai Capital LLC, an equity hedge fund in New York and San Francisco. He has over 15 years of industry experience, including his experience as a member of the board of directors at Three-Five Systems, Sunrise Telecom, and Argonaut Technologies.

Prior to SKIRITAI Capital LLC, Mr. Bentovim served as the President, COO and co-founder of WebBrix Inc. Additionally, Mr. Bentovim spent time as a Senior Engagement Manager with strategy consultancies USWeb/CKS, the Mitchell Madison Group and McKinsey & Company. As a Senior Engagement Manager, Mr. Bentovim advised many Fortune 1000 companies in the financial services, insurance, retail and manufacturing sectors. During his consulting career, Mr. Bentovim assisted companies in exploring and developing solutions in the areas of strategic planning and operational improvements.

Mr. Bentovim is experienced in evaluating Global 500 organizations and implementing strategies designed to streamline processes, reduce inefficiencies and achieve significant overhead reductions. Mr. Bentovim has an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a Law degree from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

Michael Schrader, COO

Michael Schrader has served as the manager of TIS’s German operation since 2004. In this position, Mr. Schrader successfully established a solid operation with skilled sales and engineering teams able to respond to the demands of a highly competitive market, and develop superior standardized applications. Mr. Schrader has been with TIS since 1999, and has rapidly progressed within the company, serving as a software engineer, a technical team leader, an international strategic project manager and as the director of engineering for Europe.

Prior to joining TIS, Mr. Schrader was a software engineer at Siemens and owned a Document Management consulting and development business. Mr. Schrader holds a B.Sc. of Business Engineering / Administration and is an Associate Engineer of Siemens Technical College.

Asi Karfiol

asi karfiol webAsi Karfiol was elected to serve as an external director of TIS for the second time in November 2010 . Mr. Karfiol has been active in the field of venture capital and investment banking for more than 15 years in which he incorporates his financial education and expertise together with his technological and marketing education and expertise. 
Mr. Karfiol is a  Partner and an Executive Director in Mooreland Partners, a global technology focused investment banking firm based in Greenwich Connecticut, with offices in New York, the Silicon Valley and London. Prior to that, Mr. Karfiol served as General Partner at Hyperion Israel Venture Partners for seven years. From 1995 through 2001, Mr. Karfiol served as Vice President at Ascend Venture Capital, an Israeli venture capital fund and at ITI – Integrated Technologies of Israel, an American-Israeli investment company. Prior to that, Mr. Karfiol served as Marketing Manager for the Keter Plastic Group and as General Manager of a strategic international marketing consulting firm for leading Israeli corporations. 
Mr. Karfiol holds a B.Sc. (summa cum laude) in Electrical Engineering and an MBA (magna cum laude) from Tel Aviv University.

Donald Dixon

Don Dixon is a Managing Director of Trident Capital and co-founded the firm in 1993. At Trident, he focuses on investments in IT Security, Business Services, Financial Payments, and Enterprise Software. He brings his expertise, experience and network to each of his portfolio companies and has helped many to become industry leaders, including Qualys, Merchant e-Solutions, Bytemobile and CSG Systems.

Currently, in addition to TIS, Don serves as a director of 2Checkout, AccountNow, Advanced Payment Solutions, Amprius, Infotrieve, Neohapsis, Odyssey Logistics, Qualys (QLYS), RoyaltyShare, SivaPower, Tiandi Energy, Top Image Systems and XRS Corporation (XRSC). He is also on the investment committee of Mustang Ventures, an affiliated China fund of Trident Capital Fund VI. Recently, AlwaysOn recognized Don’s investment success on its “Venture Capital 100” list. Don’s past directorships include Affiliated Computer Services (ACS), Anasazi Inc. (acquired by Pegasus Solutions), Bank of America Merchant Services (BPI), BlueStar Solutions (acquired by ACS), ByteMobile (acquired by Citrix), CSG Systems (CSGS), eGistics (acquired by Top Image Systems), Epicor Software Corporation (EPIC), Epoch Partners (acquired by Goldman Sachs), Evolving Systems (EVOL), InfoUSA (IUSA), Merchant e-Solutions (acquired by Cielo), Pegasus Systems (PEGS), Signio (acquired by Verisign), Sygate Technologies (acquired by Symantec) and Unison Software (acquired by IBM).

In addition to his board work for Trident, Don is Co-Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Princeton University School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Harvard Kennedy School Center for Public Leadership. From 1988 to 1993, Don was Co-President of Partech International, a private equity fund associated with Banque Paribas. Prior to Partech, he was a Managing Director of Alex. Brown & Sons. Earlier in his career, Don was a Vice President of Morgan Stanley & Co. and a Senior Account Officer at Citibank, N.A.

Raised in New Jersey, Don earned his B.S.E. from Princeton University and his M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Outside of Trident, he enjoys skiing, golf, traveling with his family and supporting the United States Marine Corps.

Ido Schechter

ido schechter webDr. Schechter has been with the company since 1996 and served as the Company's CEO from January 2002 through 2013. Prior to that, Dr. Ido Schechter served as the Company's Vice President of Sales and Marketing from August 1996. From January 1995 until August 1996, Dr. Schechter served as General Manager of Super Image, an affiliate of the Company; which operates a form processing service bureau. From August 1993 to December 1994, Dr. Schechter oversaw the start-up of automatic form processing services at Israel Credit Cards, Ltd. From 1991 to 1993, Dr. Schechter was a research scientist at the Horticultural Research Institute of Ontario, Canada.

Dr. Schechter is the recipient of eight Honors and Scholarships, has published or presented more than twenty-five articles and is a Captain in the Israeli Air Force. Dr. Schechter received his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Plant Physiology from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada and his B.Sc. from the Hebrew University in Israel.

Osnat Segev-Harel

osnat segev harel webOsnat Segev-Harel is serving as a director since 2012. Since 2009, Mrs. Segev-Harel serves as the chief marketing officer in Sapiens International (NASDAQ: SPNS), where she leads corporate marketing and development in the global financial services markets. During her tenure, she took an active role in the 3 M&As that Sapiens has completed druning 2010-2011, and led the go to market strategy and corporate rebranding efforts. Prior to that, as of 2005 Mrs. Segev-Harel led the sales strategy & planning at Actimize Inc., the leader of financial sector risk and compliance software solutions, based in New York. Before Actimize, Mrs. Segev-Harel has spent ten years at IBM, holding roles of business development, VC Relations, Sales and Marketing, mainly focused on the financial services sector. Earlier she spent six years at Digital Equipment. Mrs. Segev-harel holds a BSc from the University of New York and an MBA cum laude from Derby University.

Alex Toh, Managing Director for Asia Pacific & Japan

alex toh webAlex Toh is the Managing Director for Asia Pacific & Japan for Top Image Systems (TIS), a leader in Enterprise Document Imaging. With more than a decade of experience in Intelligent Document Capture, Toh manages the P&L and operations for TIS APACJ, whose clientele includes global banks, financial institutions, governments and multi-national companies. His role includes working with executives in these sectors to execute strategic initiatives around business transformations and automation of inbound documents into their organization.

Prior to TIS, Toh founded Asiasoft Global, a document management ISV with offices around Asia, which was acquired by TIS in 2007. A graduate from National University Of Singapore, School Of Computing, Toh has  also served as President of Mobile Alliance Singapore and was appointed to the Executive Council of Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SITF).

Avi Mileguir, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Americas

avi mileguir 2 webAvi Mileguir assumed the position of EVP and General Manager, TIS Americas in 2014, where he will be responsible for managing the P&L for the Americas branch and contribute from his experience with mobile and cloud solutions.  Prior to joining TIS, Mileguir served as Director and then Regional VP of Sales West and Mexico in the Americas for the ClickSoftware organization, where he achieved over 75% revenue, recruited a sales team and established a local office within the first 2 years. Before ClickSoftware, Mileguir held the position of Sales Director at Comverse Americas, where he overachieved his quota with 300% revenue growth in two years.  Mileguir served in the Israeli Air Force, where he headed the UAV Technology section and achieved the rank of Major.  He holds a BAE in Aeronautical Engineering from the Technion Institute and an MBA from Tel Aviv University.

Barry Richards, Managing Director EMEA

barry richards webBarry Richards has been with TIS since 2007. Prior to his current position, he served as the Managing Director of TIS UK from August 2009, having previously held posts of Senior Business Development Manager and UK Sales Manager. Since joining TIS he has been successful in establishing new business partnerships and has won major projects in Central Government, Insurance and Retail sectors. Richards brings a great wealth of knowledge as he has worked in the data capture and document management industry since 1989. His experience includes the creation of a partner distribution channel for OCR products as well as the implementation of many in-house and outsourced document and process management solutions throughout the UK and Ireland.

Prior to joining the document management industry, he held posts in the MOD and served as an IBM shift leader and systems analyst.

Egbert Fischer, General Manager, Central Europe

Egbert Fischer joined TIS in 2007, where he served as a Sales Director for EMEA responsible for the German speaking countries Germany, Austria and Switzerland.  In 2013 he was appointed General Manager for Central Europe.  Fischer came to TIS from ReadSoft, where he was Head of Sales for the German speaking countries.  Prior to that position he served as Director of Sales & Business Development DACH at Saperion, where he was responsible for 20 employees and EU13m, and before that held the position of Managing Director at Easy Software.  Fischer received a Diplom-Ingenieur (Certified Engineer) degree in Cybernetics from TH Leipzig, Germany,

Robert E. Lund, Chairman and CEO, eGistics, Inc.

Robert E. Lund serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of eGistics. He has over 30 years experience in the technology industry, starting as a programmer trainee at EDS. Prior to joining eGistics he provided services to two private equity firms, Trident Capital and Morgan Stanley Venture Partners.

Lund has held the CEO position in several public and private technology companies. They include Collegis, a provider of outsourcing to colleges and universities; ITI, a publicly held telecommunications firm; S-2 Software, a global provider of electronic funds transfer software; and People's Telephone Company. Additionally he was CEO of Intrepid Technologies, an information technology investment firm and chief operating officer of Newtrend, an outsourcing and software provider to the financial industry until its sale to EDS. Collegis, Intrepid and Newtrend had common ownership. From 1988-1990, Lund was the president of the Payment Services Division of EDS.

Lund graduated from Holy Cross College and served as an aviator in the United States Marine Corps.

Alayne Pregeant, Senior Director, Global Marketing

alayne pregeant-headshot web2Alayne Pregeant joined TIS in September 2013 to lead Global Marketing in alignment with TIS’ growth strategy for the North American market. Based in the United States, Pregeant brings over 11 years' industry experience in developing global marketing strategies and sales enablement campaigns that aim to significantly drive TIS’ revenue growth.Pregeant most recently served as Global Campaign Strategist for document process automation provider ReadSoft. Prior to her international coverage, Pregeant focused on marketing strategy for ReadSoft North America, which grew to the largest subsidiary of the organization. With a BA in Mass Communication and MBA in Marketing, Pregeant leads the global marketing and sales development teams to strengthen TIS' global market position of technological innovation while driving revenue through strategic marketing initiatives.

Isaac Rome, VP Mobile Solutions

isaac rome webAs VP of Mobile Solutions, Isaac Rome leads the business development, marketing, sales, product development and all related activities for the company’s Mobile and Banking solutions.   Rome has been with TIS since 1999 and has advanced within the company, serving in his first position as a Presales Engineer and then as a Strategic Project Manager.  He was later promoted to serve in various management positions while carrying out prolonged tours of duty in Boston, London, and Singapore, where he managed the Professional Services  operations for the  UK, the Americas and for APAC.  He also acted as Regional Sales Director for Africa, Benelux and Eastern Europe. Rome holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Computer Technology and an MBA with specialization in Finance from Herzliya Interdisciplinary College.

Jan Bienefeld, Director of Product Management

As Director of Product Management for Top Image Systems (TIS), Jan Bienefeld is responsible for all eFLOW solutions related to ERP document processing, especially TIS’ AP automation solution– eFLOW® INVOICE.   Bienefeld has been with TIS since 2005, where he has over-achieved as both Sales Manager for Germany and Sales Director for EMEA due to his thorough understanding of customer needs and application of best practices to meet those needs. 

Michal Kofman, Director of Global Alliances

Michal Kofman has rejoined the staff of Top Image Systems, where she serves as the Director of Global Alliances.  In her position, Kofman is responsible for developing and sustaining relationships with the wide network of software and hardware technology partners, system integrators, software distributors and business process outsourcing companies with whom TIS cooperates to support its global customer community.  Kofman has been actively involved in the establishment and expansion of the TIS partnership with Amazon Web Services to develop TIS’s innovative crowdsourcing services.

Kofman has held a variety of executive sales and management positions in the data and document management industry for over fifteen years.   In the early years of Top Image Systems, she was employed as a sales manager in Europe, where she built up a broad partner network and a community for the European TIS sales team. Kofman’s educational background focused on the area of Industrial Engineering and Management.

Oren Ilan, VP Global Engineering

oren-ilan-headshot-web2Oren Ilan was appointed to the position of VP Global Engineering in 2013 and in 2014 relocated to the US.  Ilan joined TIS in 1997 and from 2010 served as VP, Product and Operations. In this position, Ilan successfully established a strong back office operation employing customer-oriented R&D engineers (CORD), IT and a growing R&D team to support TIS customers including large banks, insurance companies and government organizations. During this time he was also responsible for the release and delivery of several versions of eFLOW. Prior to being appointed VP Product and Operations, Ilan filled a variety of positions at TIS, serving as a QA and software engineer, implementation team leader, representative of TIS in Japan, and as a project manager for over 30 projects for a period of 6 years, including some of the largest census projects that TIS implemented in India, Brazil, Italy and many other countries.  Prior to joining TIS, Ilan was an Alternative Medicine instructor and for five years owned and operated a Grinberg Method school. Ilan studied at the Ben Gurion University in Beersheva, the Tel Aviv University and at Grinberg Method programs from 1989-1995.

Ricardo Campelo Almeida, General Manager, Latin America

Ricardo Campelo joined TIS in 2004 as Sales Director for the America’s Division. Since then Campelo has been managing marketing programs, sales, strategic alliances and distribution channels in the region, achieving outstanding results, contributing to TIS’ growth and success.  Campelo brings to TIS solid international business experience of over 15 years selling Document Management and ECM solutions in Latin American and US along with a global business perspective, experience in major turnaround efforts and strong knowledge, view and understanding of current trends in IT.  Prior to joining TIS,Campelo served for 7 years as Marketing & Sales Director at Unisys Corporation, Latin America and Caribbean Division, where he was responsible for direct selling, managing and expanding alliances and channels with 3rd parties and local distributors in the region. Campelo holds a B. Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from the Rio de Janeiro University and an International Business MBA  (TBC) from Lynn University, Boca Raton – FL.

Shingo Kado, GM Japan

shingo kado  webShingo Kado was promoted to be General Manager of TIS Japan on June 30, 2012. Kado has a long history with TIS, since when he was working at Toyo Ink, TIS’s distributor in Japan, as an engineer of TIS product since 1992.  Kado continued working after the establishment of TIS Japan in 2004 when TIS acquired the eFLOW division of Toyo Ink, and became director of the engineering department in 2006. In the following years, Kado developed both his engineering knowledge and business development skills.

Tamar Hurvitz, HR

Tamar Hurvitz joined the TIS team in 2013 as Director of Human Resources.  She has global responsibility for building and maintaining HR practices and policies across TIS corporate and all regions. Hurvitz is responsible for HR planning, recruitment, retention, compensation & benefits, organizational development, training, and internal communications. She is involved in enhancing management and leadership skills and leading change management processes at TIS.  Hurvitz brings to TIS 20 years of experience in a wide range of Human Resource disciplines, both as an internal HR manager and as an external consultant. Prior to TIS, she served as the HR manager of Motorola in Israel and as an organizational development and training manager. She brings experience in talent and leadership development, in business coaching in the private and public sectors and in facilitating organizational management workshops.  Hurvitz received an MA in Organizational Consulting and Labor Studies from Tel Aviv University.

Yoss Perl, Executive Director, EMEA

Yoss Perl joined TIS in 2005 to take responsibility for the growth drivers across the EMEA region, starting in Italy and expanding rapidly into the rest of Europe, securing major international enterprise deals with top brand customers such as the Ferrero Group, the FIAT Group, ENEL, Coca Cola Hellenic and many more.  As Executive Director, EMEA for TIS, Perl is responsible for the sales management and the business development for the EMEA region.  Perl holds a degree in Economics, International Marketing and an MBA from the prestigious SDA Bocconi University in Milan, Italy.

Yuval Hinski, VP, Global Solutions

Yuval Hinski has been a part of the TIS R&D operations since 2004, when he joined as a software engineer.  Following responsibilities as Director of R&D and VP, R&D, Hinski was appointed Director of Global Solutions in 2013.  Before TIS, Hinski served on the R&D teams of well-known high-tech companies such as Gilat Satellite Networks and Verint Systems.   He has strong expertise in Agile Methodologies, Scrum, WCF, .NET and promotes test-driven development.  Hinski holds a B.Sc. in Computer Sciences from the Open University of Israel.

Zafer Orhan, Director, Product Management

Zafer Orhan, Director, Product Management, has been with TIS since 2005.  Starting as an Account Manager, Orhan filled the positions of Key Account Manager, Business Development Manager based in Australia, and since 2013 has taken responsibility for the Digital Mailroom solution.  Orhan has extensive knowledge of the document management, imaging, scanning and workflow markets, a proven track record in enterprise sales and extensive experience developing qualified pipelines and handling long and complex solution sales cycles. Prior to joining TIS, Orhan worked as a business consultant for various German consulting firms. Orhan received a degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Heinrich Heine University in Duesseldorf, Germany and a degree in Intercultural Japan Studies from the Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan and the Eberhard Karls University in Tuebingen, Germany.
