Executive Officers
Management Board of Directors Management | Ido Schechter, CEODr Schechter has worked for Top Image Systems for the last 15 years currently working as TIS’s CEO since January 2002, and previously as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing from August 1996. Previous to TIS, from January 1995 to August 1996 Dr Schechter was the General Manager of Super Image, a forms processing service bureau which is an affiliate of TIS. From August 1993 to December 1994 he oversaw the start-up of automatic form processing services at Israel Credit Cards Ltd. From 1991 to 1993 Dr Schechter was a scientist at the Horticultural Research Institute of Ontario, Canada,
With eight Honours and Scholarships, Dr Schechter has published or presented more than twenty-five articles, and is a captain in the Israeli Air Force. A Strong educational background comprises of a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Plant Physiology from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada and a B.Sc. from the Hebrew University in Israel.
| | Oded Leiba, MD of TIS UKOded Leiba is TIS’s Managing Director for the UK’s Operations. Prior to this position Oded was the company’s Vice President of Professional Services. As the TIS representative in Japan from May 1999 to May 2001 Oded worked alongside our exclusive distributor, EDMS. During this time Oded and EDMS were involved with several major projects in the insurance and medical industries which helped pave the way for TIS’s strong relationship with IBM in Japan. Before his term in Japan, Oded worked as a technical manager, helping the formation of a subsidiary of TIS, ‘Super Image’ a service bureau to insurance companies and government offices. Previously to TIS, Oded was a senior level programmer at VISA which included involvement in the installation of the first TIS forms processing system (AFPS) from the client side. Oded has a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Business Management from the University of Tel Aviv.
| | Ofir Shalev, VP R&D and CTOOfir Shalev leads TIS’s research and development activities, and is responsible for the company’s technological roadmap. Mr Shalev is responsible for answering the current and future needs of the company by merging the two main development efforts, advanced software engineering technologies and state of the art machine learning algorithms for data classification and recognition.
Previously to this, Ofir served for three years as the company’s Director of Recognition over which time he was responsible for the development of Freedom, TIS’S semi structured data module. Before his arrival at TIS, Ofir worked for the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) as a senior development leader. Ofir gained a range of qualifications including, a Master of Science degree in computer science (Magna cum laude) from the Open University of Israel, with research focused on Machine Learning algorithms, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Technion, the Israeli Institute of Technology.
| | Michael Schrader, General Manager, Top Image Systems DeutschlandMichael Schrader has taken on the role of TIS’s manager of German operations since 2004. Within the position Mr Schrader has established a strong operation of skilled engineering and sales teams able to respond to the demands of a highly competitive market, and develop superior standardised applications.
Mr Schrader began with TIS in 1999 and has rapidly grown within the company with roles having included, software engineer, a technical team leader, an international strategic project manager and as the director of engineering for Europe. Before his arrival at TIS Michael worked as a software engineer for Siemens, and owned a Document Management Consulting Business. Qualifications include a BSc of Business Engineering/Administration and Michael is also an Associate Engineer of Siemens Technical College.
| | Osamu Sakio, Representative Director, TIS JapanSince its inception in April 2004, Osamu has served as Representative Director at TIS Japan. Before joining TIS, in 1999 Mr Osamu founded SunTrust International Co Ltd, a private business that develops automated Inkan corresponding software together with the Israeli company e-Nkan. The software is still the only software which enables automated Inkan matching.
Before that Mr. Sakio worked as the Director of Seibu Department Store for the Saison Group, Advisor to Saison Information Systems and the Director of Saison Corporation. Within these positions, he was involved in the restructuring of Saison’s overseas operations in China, France, Italy, UK, and USA.
From 1983 to 1988 Mr. Sakio served as the Treasurer of CCKK, a 100% subsidiary of Citicorp, and as Representative Director & Vice President of FNNS, a joint venture of Citibank and Nippon Shinpan. In 1978, Mr. Sakio worked as senior International Auditor for American Express in NY. Qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts from the International Christian University (ICU) in Tokyo and an MBA from IMEDE (currently IMD) Lausanne Switzerland.
| | Omri Gelb, MD TIS EMEA and Sales Director USAOmri Gelb has been the Managing Director of TIS EMEA since January 2008. In this capacity Omri has quickly led the diverse and widespread EMEA group into a strong, unified and growing team. He has developed and implemented a sales strategy strongly focused on high value accounts and effective partnerships with distribution channels. In 2001, Omri joined TIS as the USA and Canada Director of Sales. His work allowed the company to fortify its reputation as the top provider of Intelligent Document Recognition solutions.
Prior to joining TIS, Omri represented Waypay, a start-up company in the US and was a Senior Account Manager at Micro Tempus, a Canadian software company in Montréal, Canada. Omri holds a Bachelors of Commerce in International Business and Business Management from what is known today as the John Molson School of Business, at Concordia University.
| | Alex Toh, MD TIS (AsiaPacific) Pte LtdAsiasoft Global was established by Alex Toh in 2004, merging the new company with Deca Solutions Pte Ltd, a company he previously established to focus on the development of enterprise applications as well as turnkey solutions, including Freight and Accounting Management systems.
Under the management of Mr. Toh, between 2004 to 2007 ASG opened offices around the Asia region, acquired associate companies, Research & Development in Capture, Content Management as well as solutions for Shared Services centres. Mr. Toh also secured several major governmental funds and R&D grants which enabled ASG to grow its intellectual property in this arena. In 2007 Alex negotiated the acquisition of ASG by TIS, where he became the head of solutions provider powerhouse in the Far East with leadership in Imaging and Information Management technologies with presence in Asia's major countries. Previously to establishing ASG, Mr Toh founded Virtual Homes Pte Ltd, an online 3D / VRML company providing users with online 3D designs of their homes. Mr Toh is a graduate of the National University of Singapore with a degree from School Of Computing.

Board of Directors | Izhak Nakar, Founder and Chairman of the BoardIzhak Nakar founded the Company and served as its Chairman of the Board and CEO from inception until May 2001. In 2005, he was re-elected as the Chairman of the Board and in this position is responsible for TIS’s strategic M&A activity. Mr. Nakar served in the Israel Air Force from 1970 to 1987, where he led various large-scale highly technical development projects, including leading a development team that worked in cooperation with the U.S. Air Force. He received his B.Sc. in Computer Science from Bar Ilan University in 1982, and an MBA from Tel-Aviv University in 1984. Mr. Nakar is a recipient of the “Israel Defense Award,” bestowed annually by the President of Israel, for the development of high-tech systems in the field of intelligence for the Israeli Defense Force. He also received the “Man of the Year Award” in Business and Management (‘95-’96) in recognition of his business accomplishments and contributions to the growth and development of Israeli high-tech companies. In 1998 , Mr. Nakar founded NIR4YOU Capital, a privately held investment company specializing in early stage investments in high–tech companies. NIR4YOU Capital has 14 companies on its portfolio including: ForesCout , e-mobilis ,TopGuard , Matearis , Video Codes ,SundaySky , Secur DI , MomSense etc. Three of the 14 companies were sold to large enterprises, including SAP and Microsoft . In 2004 Mr. Nakar was elected as a Board member of the Israel-Japan chamber of Commerce. .
| | William LanduytWilliam Landuyt, has been a director of the Company since March 2, 2004 Mr. Landuyt has been a Principal at Charterhouse Group International, Inc. since December 2003. He served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Millennium Chemicals Inc. from its demerger from Hanson Plc (“Hanson”) in October 1996 until July 2003. He had served as the President of that company from June 1997 until that date. Mr. Landuyt was Director, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hanson Industries (which managed the United States operations of Hanson until the demerger) from June 1995 until the demerger, a Director of Hanson from 1992 until September 29, 1996, Finance Director of Hanson from 1992 to May 1995, and Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Hanson Industries from 1988 to 1992. He joined Hanson Industries in 1983. He was a director of Bethlehem Steel Corporation from April 1997 until October 2003.
| | Elie HousmanElie Housman has been a director of the Company since May 2000. Mr. Housman joined InkSure in February 2002 as Chairman and also serves as a director of InkSure. Mr. Housman was a Principal at Charterhouse from 1989 until June 2001. At Charterhouse, Mr. Housman was involved in the acquisition of a number of companies with total sales of several hundred million dollars. Prior to Charterhouse, he was co-owner of AP Parts, a $250 million automotive parts manufacturer. Mr. Housman was also the Chairman of Novo Plc. in London, a leading company in the broadcast storage and services industry. Mr. Housman served as a director of deltathree, Inc. until December 31, 2003 and presently serves as a director of ICTS International, N.V., a prominent aviation security company and EVCI Career Colleges Incorporated. In addition, Mr. Housman serves as a director of Jazz Photo, Inc., and Bartech Systems International, Inc., which are both privately held companies in the United States.
| | Prof. Yehezkel YeshurunProfessor Yehezkel Yeshurun has been a director of the Company since December 2004. He brings to the Company's Board of Directors over 25 years of technical and management experience. He is a faculty member in the School of Computer Science at Tel Aviv University, and his research areas are Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition and Computational Neuroscience. He authored more than 80 scientific publications and served on numerous international program committees. Professor Yeshurun has co-founded several technology companies including us and TapGuard (provider of QoS solutions over the internet, acquired by Elron Software (NASDAQ: ELRN)), and is the Chairman of the Board of ForeScout Technology (Internet Security startup). Among other positions, he served as the chairman of the Department of Computer Science at Tel Aviv University, chairman of the Israeli National Committee for IT, a member of the board of the Israeli chapter of W3C, a board member of the US-Israel Science and Technology Commission and a member of the board of governors of the International Association for Pattern Recognition. Professor Yeshurun holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Tel Aviv University and held visiting positions at New York University, McGill University and the University of Paris.
| | Aliza SharonAliza Sharon is Managing Partner and Owner of a Tel Aviv firm of Certified Public Accountants. The firm was established in 1993, today employs 20 professionals, and is involved in audits, consultation, management and internal audits of Israel’s largest companies and institutions. Mrs. Sharon also serves as a member of the board of directors of Israel Aircraft Industries Ltd, University of Haifa and Azorim Investments and Building Construction Ltd., and holds a license to practice as a Certified Public Accountant [from 1987] and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics [University of Haifa, from 1979]. Previously, Mrs. Sharon served as Chief Executive Officer and Financial Manager of a large building organization, and as an accountant at a large Tel Aviv firm of Certified Public Accountants. Mrs. Sharon possesses financial and accounting expertise, as required by the Companies Law and regulations deriving thereof.
| | Asi KarfiolAsi Karfiol served in various positions in the field of Venture Capital From 2001 through 2007. Mr. Karfiol is serving as General Partner at Hyperion Israel Venture Partners. From 1995 through 2001 Mr. Karfiol held various Vice President positions at Ascend Venture Capital, an Israeli Venture Capital Fund, and at ITI, an American-Israeli Investment Company. Prior to that, Mr. Karfiol served as Marketing Manager for the Keter Plastics Group and as General Manager of a strategic international marketing consulting firm for leading Israeli corporations. Mr. Karfiol holds a BSc (summa cum laude) in Electrical Engineering and an MBA (magna cum laude) from Tel Aviv University. Mr. Karfiol possesses professional competence as required by the Companies Law and regulations deriving thereof.
